Photography is something that I got into by accident. My uncle gifted me an older camera of his because he decided he wanted to upgrade. The camera sat around collecting dust until I finally decided to pick it up and after a few clicks I realized I was hooked. I would take it everywhere, to the point that if I didn't, my friends would point it out immediately and ask me why I left it behind.
I had no intentions of ever doing photography as a profession at first, but after noticing how excited and happy people would get after seeing the final results, that thought changed. These reactions eventually became my main drive when photographing anyone, from weddings and birthdays to events. Just grabbing the candid shots people normally don't get to see during the day because they would be so wrapped up in the moment. I love showing people the small interactions that are going on between their friends and family or coworkers enjoying themselves, especially weddings! The bride and groom are perpetually on a schedule, so being able to help them create memories that they'd otherwise miss out on is always an honor.
Even when I'm not hired to shoot an event, I may show up to a random one in the area and just grab some shots for practice and to share with the proprietor if they're interested. A lot of times when I'm at home I'll be in the yard doing mini shoots with my dogs or in the garden trying patiently to get some macro photos of insects or whatever else comes into view. All in all, photography is something that's kept me happy over the last decade, and it's a skill that is an absolute joy for me to share with anyone and everyone.
